Mother's Day

I can still remember the terrible Mother’s Day that I had this year. I have two sons one called Jeff and another one called Jason. They always work together and will make a beautiful card every year for Mother’s Day. However this year was different.

The day just before Mother’s Day, Jason was angry with Jeff as Jeff had spoiled his toy and Jason wanted to take revenge. The next day, which was Mother’s Day, Jeff woke up extra early to prepare my favorite soup. After Jeff had finished cooking, he wanted to go to the toilet. Coincidentally Jason wake up and saw the bowl of soup and thought that Jeff cooked it for his breakfast as he had forgotten about Mother’s Day. So he added different kinds of medicine into the soup and thought that Jeff will fall ill. Suddenly, Jason heard sound from the toilet. It sound like someone opening the toilet door. “It must be Jeff.” Jason thought. So Jason quickly put all the medicine back to the same place. Jeff came out of the toilet and he saw Jason.

Jeff took the bowl of soup, he held onto and pulled Jason into my room. I got a shock. Jeff then handed the bowl of soup to me. As he handed the soup over, Jason was very worried and was shivering. As he did not want anyone to know what had happened, Jason took out the card that he had made and showed it to me.

After they both had given me the Mother’s Day present, Jeff started talking about how well the soup will taste or how happy will mother be. Jason felt that he should tell the truth and let Jeff and me know what was happening but he was scared and worried. He scared that I would punish him and would also make him do a lot of test papers. At the same time, he was also very worried that mother would not have a happy Mother’s Day this year.

“OK!” he said, “I will tell the truth.” As Jason walked into my bedroom, he saw me looking very sick and tired. Jason told Jeff what he had done and promised not to do it again. After he finished admitting his mistake, I said weakly “ Come, Jason, come here.” Jason thought that it would be test papers and extra worksheets for him but he did not know that I was praising him for his honest act. Jason promised that would not lie again.
